.. 'Warman
Leisure Holidays'
- is run by Mel and Barry Dillon from Oxfordshire who have been organising Short Mat Holiday breaks
since
1986 and therefore have a wealth of
experience in such matters. Although the majority of these holidays
were initially located in the middle South of England, venues have
now also been arranged in the South West and Anglia and bowlers
regularly attend from many counties throughout England and Wales.
Warman Leisure Holidays'
offer well organised, good competitive bowling, in pleasant
company at prime locations,
with comfortable accommodation and excellent food (breakfast &
evening meal),
at very competitive and reasonable prices - all of which ensures that
many regulars return time and time again!.
Many of the regulars attend several functions during the year and up to three quarters
of the places available for holidays at some venues -
are often booked up by guests whilst attending
the previous years' function! - that
speaks for itself!.
Due to
the ever increasing popularity of these holidays new
venues have regularly been sought and we are proud to announce
that since 2007 we have been arranging tournaments in November at the renowned 'Potters
Leisure Village', in Suffolk, which enables our competitors to
visit the only five star holiday village in England where they will not
only be able to enjoy their bowling but will also be able to see top
line entertainment in the evening in Potters 'Atlas Theatre'.
Further new venues - the Sand Bay Holiday
Resort at Weston-super-Mare was included for 2008, and in 2009 at the
Bells Hotel in the beautiful Forest of Dean. Due to the sale
and conversion of the Belgrave Hotel in Torquay to a 'Beefeater Inn' we
moved in 2008 our Torquay Festival to the Livermead House just along the
seafront.

Raffles in aid of charity, are run at all tournaments and the first cheque for
£2500 was presented to the 'Hearing Dogs for Deaf People' organisation at
Lakeside, Hayling Island
in
February 2000 - this was
money raised during the preceding two years.
Money continues to be raised
and cheques continue to be presented - further details are available on
our separate page 'Hearing Dogs for Deaf
People'.
