Perhaps
unsurprisingly, many of our guests mention that at the end of
their break they haven't
found the time to leave the hotel
grounds. Where else can you enjoy a first class
grass bowls green (available May to September), archery, pitch
and putt, tennis, crochet and the delights of the formal
Spanish garden. And that's all before you venture
inside.
There you will discover an inviting pool, sauna, spa bath,
fitness room,
competition standard indoor bowls hall, and a
pampering health and beauty salon. Then, of
course, there is the Captain's Lounge, the Four Tides
restaurant, cabaret room and games room.
Nevertheless
Bembridge remains a perfect location for exploring the island,
so if you do find yourself with a spare hour or so then our
out and about section will provide you with a taste of what is
available outside of the hotel grounds.
Out &
About
All within an hours
drive-
A break on the Isle of Wight allows you to experience the
fantastic quality of life of the Islanders. Start
with a wander round the splendid formal gardens of Osbourne
House, Queen Victoria's
summer
residence. Then take a drive to the 12th century Carisbrook
Castle.
If
you visit the 17th century Calbourne
Watermill, make sure you
stroll down nearby Winkle
Street,
a picturesque collection of cobbled pavements and little
shops.
For lovers of rare plants and animals, two musts are the award
winning Ventnor Botanical
Gardens and the Rare Breeds and
Waterfowl Park.
For some fun taken straight from your childhood, spend an hour
or two at the Needles
Pleasure Park where you
can paddle at the edge of the famous Alum
Bay sands.
And for some grown-up fun, make sure you are around during the
famous Cowes Week
when
you can experience the thrill of Island life to the full.
